Weekend traffic closures

092206_loop.jpgSure, the $225 million West Loop reconstruction will formally be capped off today with a ceremony at the Woodway exit, but don't make the mistake of thinking that means it'll be smooth sailing through Uptown this weekend. No sirma'am, a variety of projects on 290 and the Katy Freeway will give you plenty to plan around if you're headed out to the west side. So, here we go:

  • 290 eastbound will be closed from 9 p.m. today to 9 a.m. Saturday while the roadway is restriped. Traffic on 290 eastbound will be detoured to the North Loop eastbound to 45 southbound to I-10 westbound.
  • The West Loop southbound at I-10 will be closed from 9 p.m. today to 9 a.m. Saturday.
  • The entrance ramp to the West Loop southbound from 18th Street will be closed from 9 p.m. today to 9 a.m. Saturday, 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
  • West Loop southbound ramps to the Katy in both directions will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
  • An outside lane of 290 eastbound to the West Loop southbound and an inside lane of the North Loop westbound to the West Loop southbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
  • The West Loop southbound exit to Old Katy Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
  • The intersection of Memorial and the West Loop will be closed from 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Monday, as will the West Loop northbound frontage road between Woodway and Memorial and alternate lanes at the intersection of Post Oak and the West Loop.

Ugh.
