This cat is our new best friend.

The Astros, reluctant to cede their penant, have just spanked the Cards in 4-games, extending the good guy's winning streak to five and the Cardinal's losing streak to five. That puts us 3.5 games out of the division with just 7 games to go.

What are the chances? If you look game-by-game we'll have the easier schedule (with the exception of playing the phillies for one game) than the Cards. But that's not what is going to decide this epic battle. The question you gotta ask yourself is: who wants it more?

Who wants it so bad they can taste it? The Astros, fresh off their first trip to the world series, hoping to reclaim glory and win it all... or... the Cardinals, who don't want to give up their division streak and claim a world series win before a large chunk of their team either moves on or retires?

We agree with our friends at Astros Anonymous:

"Let's throw all our coulds and cannots into the rubble of Astroworld and just say thanks, boys. I've had a blast these past three years, and for one, have not counted ya'll out."
