Tuesday
For those who yearn for the days of the progressive rock of the 80’s and 90’s, Queensryche is back, touring on their new concept album Operation: Mindcrime II. We’re sure they’ll throw in their mainstream hit, “Silent Lucidity.”
8 p.m. at Verizon Wireless | tickets and info

Wednesday
And for those who like your rock a little more hardcore, Sparkle Motion will fill the void for you. Houston’s Born Liars open. Not a show for those with sensitive ears.
9 p.m. at Rudyard’s | tickets and info

Thursday

Let’s set one thing straight, Minnesota’s Mason Jennings is not related to Waylon (and neither is Lyfe Jennings, but you probably already knew that). The buzz around Mason is growing – just some well written folk/pop songs.
9 p.m. at Walter’s on Washington | tickets and info

Let’s set another straight: Reverend Horton Heat is not a man of the cloth (we’re sure you knew that, too). They’re actually a psychobilly band from Dallas that has had enough of a steady following over the past 20 years, that they’ve just released a “Best Of” CD.
8 p.m. at the Meridian | tickets and info

Friday
Grupo Fantasma's sound is best described as modern Latin America. The 11-piece Austin band is known for getting people out onto the dance floors with their up-tempo beats. A great way to celebrate the beginning of the weekend!
10 p.m. at the Continental Club | tickets and info

Live was a great band in the 90’s. Whether they still are today or not, that’s your call (we haven’t heard much of their new music, though their latest album cover looks just like Throwing Copper). We’ll be happy to at least hear “Operation Spirit” and “Selling the Drama.”
8 p.m. at Verizon Wireless | tickets and info

Saturday
Not many bands can stay on top with an album that is almost 30 years old – but, the Steve Miller Band is milking it for what they can. The classic rocker is joined by a season root-blues performer (Delbert McClinton) and a young, though established, one (Johnny Lang).
6: 30 p.m. at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | tickets and info
