In Montgomery County, police are on the lookout for an inmate who escaped from a Conroe hospital overnight. Adam Williams, the guy in question, was arrested for outstanding warrants in Liberty County and for possession of a firearm by a felon; he was in leg restraints and under guard at Conroe Regional Hospital, but managed to get out of the restraints and slip past the guard. (Which means neither the restraints nor the guard were doing their jobs very well, we suppose.)
A deputy apparently saw Williams fleeing the hospital around 3 a.m., and someone else saw him at about 4:15 a.m. near I-45 and Highway 105. When last seen, Williams was still wearing a blue hospital gown — which probably got kinda drafty early this morning — and might have still been handcuffed. Turns out he has a record of evading arrest and escape. We assume that means he'll be smart enough to ditch the hospital gown pretty quickly.
Williams is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall with brown hair, blue eyes and a lot of tattoos. If you run into him, call 936.760.5800; Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
