Astros a half-game behind Cards

So, how 'bout them Astros?

After Wednesday night's marathon game, the 'Stros beat the Pirates 3-0 in Pittsburgh yesterday afternoon — and the Cardinals suffered a 9-4 loss to the Brewers, helping them in their end-of-the-season suckfest. We're now half a game behind the Cards, and Houstonist, we don't mind telling you, is excited.

As the 'Stros head to Atlanta today to finish out the season, tickets are still available for the theoretical playoff games — but, like we've said before, we don't want to jinx anything here. We'll just sit back and enjoy some good baseball.
