MoCo police on the lookout for robber with bad hair

102006_robber.jpgIn Montgomery County, police are searching for a criminal who may or may not have been wearing a wig while knocking over a Woodlands-area bank and attempting to rob another Wednesday — apparently, the crook is either a man wearing a bad wig and women's clothing or a woman with an exceptionally unfortunate hairdo.

The suspect walked into a Woodforest Bank branch at 327 Rayford Road at about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday and gave a teller a note demanding money, but then left without any loot. At 3:50 that afternoon, the person went to the Compass Bank at 1450 Lake Woodlands Drive and again handed a teller a note demanding money — but this time, s/he got away with an undisclosed amount.

The suspect, who is shown pretty clearly on surveillance tape, is black, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs between 120 and 140 pounds, police said. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest; if you know anything, call 800.392.7867 or visit www.montgomerycountycrimestoppers.org. (And no, "This crook should get a Cousin Itt wig" doesn't count as a valid tip.)
