Much beloved and sadly departed comedian Mitch Hedberg used to joke that comedy couldn't be like pancakes, exciting at first and then dissapointing by the the time you get halfway into them. Unfortunately, that looks to be an apt description of this weekend.
Monday through Wednesday
Things heat up slightly as high temperatures creep into the lower 80s through the early part of the week as the area falls under the influence of high pressure in the gulf that is bringing the current southerly winds to the area. There's only a slight chance of some evening shower/thunderstorm activity through Wednesday night.
Thursday
Right now some of the models are showing a strong trough in the boring states (Kansas, Oklahoma) triggering thunderstorm activity over the area, taking advantage of some deep moisture. Make sure to bring an umbrella out with you Thursday. Temperatures will be likely be in the lower 70s, especially in the areas under the influence of rain.
The Weekend
The rain will push off the coast by Friday and leave behind it slightly cooler, drier and clearer conditions. Over the weekend, expect lows in the lower 50s and highs in the lower 70s. It's unlikely this weekend will be as nice as yesterday, but it'll be nicer than soggy pancakes.
