Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that you love Houston. Let's say you keep up with what's going on in the city — news, sports, the arts, food, music, architecture, the literary scene — and let's say you can write. Perfect! You're just what we're looking for.
If you really do have a soft spot for the Bayou City and make a point of knowing what's going on, we'd love to have you join us as a Houstonist contributor. You'll get to write about what you're interested in, and your work will be read daily by as many as eleven people who're also interested in those things. (No, we're just kidding: Sometimes our daily readership reaches as high as 14.) You'll be a part of the most popular network of city blogs online today, your friends will be impressed — if you have easily impressed friends, that is — and we'll even buy you a drink once in a while. Not a bad deal, we'd say.
If you're interested, drop us an email at write (at) houstonist (dot) com and let us know a little about yourself and why you think you'd be a good match for Houstonist. You might also include a writing sample of some kind — if you don't, we'll ask you for one later, so you might as well get it over with all at once.
Go ahead, write for Houstonist — it may be one of the best things to ever happen to you (unless you've won the lottery, of course, in which case we'd still like to know you).
