flashDance: photography of Houston choreographers and dancers

11082006_AmitavaSarkar.jpgSpace 125 Gallery, in conjunction with "Dance USA On Tour" presents "flashDance: photography of Houston choreographers & dancers", beginning November 9th and running through December 22nd. The showing is free and open to the public. The exhibit will feature the works of David A. Brown, Jim Caldwell, Louie Saletan, Amitava Sarkar and Jennifer Leigh Wood. The opening on November 9th is from 6 pm - 8 pm. Regular gallery hours are Mon-Fri from 10 am - 2 pm, or by appointment.

David A. Brown is the founder of SpaceTaker.org, which he has described as "a service organization run by artists for artists and the entities that support them."

Jim Caldwell has spent over thirty years photographing dance in Houston, including the Houston Ballet and Dominic Walser Dance Theater.

Louie Saletan is the Managing Director of Suchu Dance, an award-winning contemporary dance/theatre performing group based in Houston.

Amitava Sarkar is an Austin-based photographer (a sample of his work can be seen above) for an additional look at his works visit here.

Jennifer Leigh Wood is a 2006 IAG Fellowship Recipient.
