Bird lovers and Cats have never had fond attraction to each other. Left to their desires,Bird lovers would have all Cats locked away or dispatched, and I can understand this,to a point. Dog's kill Cats...so can I go out and shoot all the free running Dog's I see? No,of course not.Other wild animals kill birds, eat their eggs,etc..shall we get a posse together and slaughter all wild animals...I think not.Feral Cats have a right to exist as do other animals...not all Cats are domestic.Think about why there are Feral Cats to begin with? Now these animals have to pay the price with their lives because of the idiots out there who lack the responsibility to care for them. What gives this moron the right to decide the Birds are more important then the Cats? There are other means of removing Cats from one area to another and killing them is not the answer and not the Legal answer for sure. I am elated to see a high Bond...it's usually just a few hundred dollars and a slap on the wrist.I applaud Mr Newland for trying to protect the Cats and for stopping this lunatic from killing more.
