The Texans offensive line, already weakened by the loss of tackle Zach Wiegert, took another hit today with the tasering of Guard Fred Weary. KHOU and The Chronicle are reporting that Weary was pulled over on Tuesday afternoon when Houston police noticed a missing front license plate and a lane change violation.
Big Fred wanted to know why he was being pulled over. The HPD officer wanted Big Fred's license. An agitated Weary was eventually asked to step out of the car. That's when things got ugly.
Once out of the vehicle, Weary did not follow HPD instructions to assume the position and the HPD officer attempted to cuff him. Weary allegedly pushed the cuffs away and stepped toward the officer. The accompanying officer tasered Big Fred and gave him a lift to the slammer.
Events on Tuesday concluded with Weary released from jail and possibly facing charges of resisting arrest. As for the Texans, Tony Wyllie, Texans vice president of communications, issued the following statement: “We’re aware of the situation involving Fred Weary, and at this time we’re gathering all the information and getting all the facts."
The facts are: put your front license plate on your car and control your emotions.
