By far one of the weirdest news stories Houstonist has seen in a while is that of the woman who was the victim of a hit-and-run accident this weekend immediately after she might have been the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Doesn't make sense to you? Us either.
It happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at FM 529 and Spring Creek in northwest Houston, where a motorist noticed a woman lying along the side of the road on a bike path. It apparently wasn't clear why she was lying there, so the driver stopped to see if the woman was OK. While the driver was checking on her, the woman stood up, walked to the middle of 529, lay down and was promptly run over and killed by a passing driver.
The second driver didn't stop after running over the woman. Police are looking for that vehicle, which was only described as a silver or light-colored car.
