Monday through Wednesday
They say "If you don't like the weather in Houston, wait five minutes." This week, they're wrong. If you don't like the weather you're out of luck. Temperatures wil begin to creep up with highs in the lower 60s and lows at or above freezing tonight, rising into the 40s by Tuesday night.
Wednesday Night through Friday
A cold front moves through on Wednesday night, but in the absence of moisture don't expect much precipitation unless you live along the coast. Temperatures cool moderately to highs up the upper 50s/lower 60s depending on what part of town.
The Weekend
The surface high pressure system that is keeping things clear around here shoves off around Friday/Saturday and a shortwave moves across the area, providing some lift for thunderstorms and showers. Keep an eye on the sky and the weather forecast. Temps reaching the lower to mid 60s overnight.
Climatology - In case you were curious, the average high for this time of year is 66 and the average low is 44. We're coming in just a bit lower than this. The lowest temperature during this week was 19 F on 12/07/1950. The record high was 84 F in 12/07/1998. So, it could be worse.
