All this week we're featuring our favorite photos from a year of great contributions to the Houstonist Flickr Photo Group. They're all our favorites in different ways, but there were four that stood out as jewels amongst the gems.

The deep blacks, the texture, the composition, the subject... what's there not to like about this photo? Stare at this photo for a minute and you'll think you're hearing the blues. We can't be sure, but our guess is he's playing "One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer" by John Lee Hooker.
