It's Hard Being Beyonce!

Dreamgirls.jpgPoor Ms. Knowles....after catty comments about costar Jennifer Hudson and very mixed reviews for her performance in Dreamgirls, things just aren't looking up yet for the Houston-born music industry darling.

Knowles, who received a co-writing credit on a new song written for the movie, has just learned she has not qualified for Oscar eligibility. Apparently one of the Academy's eligibility rules says that a maximum of three songwriters can be credited for any particular song, so Beyonce's attempts to publicize her involvement with the creative process in interviews will go unacknowledged by the people who give out the little gold men.

As if that weren't enough, though Beyonce received a Golden Globe nom for her performance as Deena, the Diana Ross character of Dreamgirls' Supremes-like band, lots of industry insiders think the SAG awards are even better predictors of Oscar nominees for acting--and Beyonce's name is noticeably absent from that particular list, though costars Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson both scored nominations.

As for us? We're just going to go see the movie--a review's on tap for tomorrow.
