True Religion to open Houston location in '07

010507_truelogo.jpgTrue Religion is ready to make fashion-conscious Houstonians (with well-lined pockets) truly happy. The clothing retailer will be opening a store in the Galleria this summer. The new store will carry True Religion's full line of merchandise for men and women, including T-shirts, pants, skirts, sweatshirts, and their trademark $200+ jeans.

The original True Religion store was opened in 2002 in Los Angeles, CA, by husband-and-wife design team Jeffrey and Kym Lubell. They began a national expansion only last year, including locations in Miami and New York. The Houston store will be the company's sixth. The brand is especially popular with A-list celebrities and was famously mentioned by Fergie in one of Houstonist's favorite guilty-pleasure songs, "My Humps." In fact, according to Wikipedia, True Religion ranked 22nd in 2005 on a list of brands mentioned in American Top 20 music.

True Religion jeans are already available in Houston at retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
