Update: Missing baby found in California

Update on the story of Isiah Ramirez, the 2-month-old whose mother misplaced him en route from Houston to San Antonio this weekend: A couple in Buena Park, Calif., turned the baby in to authorities today, according to the Chronicle.

"He's safe and unharmed," said Houston FBI spokeswoman Shauna Dunlap.

The child's mother, Veronica Ramirez, told investigators she handed Isiah to a couple on Sunday at a truck stop somewhere between San Antonio and Houston.

"Their final destination was in California," Dunlap said.

Ramirez was under the influence of drugs when she returned home to San Antonio without her child. She was placed in a psychiatric treatment facility as investigators traced her route, officials said.

Needless to say, Ramirez wasn't much help to investigators — she thought she remembered giving Isiah to a couple she met at a truck stop, but she couldn't remember where that stop was. "She wasn't much help at all," Dunlap said. "She was not coherent."

Authorities in California are talking to the couple who had Isiah.

whoo-hoo! baby found! :-)

Haha... They were all on drugs, the couple that had the baby drove all the way to California! They could've turned it over to authorities anywhere. Bizarre!
