OK, so it wasn't just us. Apparently, all the beer related events over the past few weeks were not just a coincidence. Thanks to Houstonist contributor and scourer of all things culinary Mary Jane for bringing to our attention that indeed today is "Beer Can Appreciation Day," celebrating that great day in 1937 when beer was first sold in cans.
Who knew? (apparently, Mary Jane. Duh.)
We are ecstatic to notify you with at least 10 hours left to celebrate. For your celebratory drinking pleasure, we have complied a list of places that are sure to be honoring this holiday. They are called bars.
Little Woodrow's West Alabama (a.k.a. L.W.W.A.) - always the lively bunch, and ummm, beer galore.
Flying Saucer, 705 Main Street (Downtown) - if you missed the Beer Tasting last night, no worries, there is plenty more.
Leon's Lounge - Midtown's jewel and a Houstonist favorite, ask for Ben (just don't ask for Ms. Scarlett's cousin)
The Spot Club, 1732 W. 18th - Our favorite ITL (barely) dive; Dive into cheap beer.
