Houston's Missed Connections: Nosey, nosey, nosey

This week's Missed Connections are brought to you by the letter 'E' for 'Eavesdropping.' Seriously people, is this the best way to court someone? By listening to one side of their phone calls?

Pappadeux on Richmond about 9 pm Tuesday night

you were a distinguished older gentlemen in a starched shirt, silver hair, handsome, eating alone. You made a couple of cell phone calls, and I thought I overheard you saying something about "Baptist." You may have told the waiter you were staying near the Galleria. I'd like to chat. There is just something about you.

Frankly, we are a little glad she didn't say anything. What kind of ice breaker would that tidbit lend itself to? "I like Baptists too!"

Kroger at Buffalo/59 on Sat morning abou 10 AM

you were with a woman, dark hair, unshaven, ballcap, either jeans or sweats, dark tee shirt or sweatshirt. Very very very handsome. You were asking her something like "without sugar, right?" and she said something like "but still sweet". She was being kind of impatient with you. You saw me pushing carts out of the aisle to get by and kindly moved yours for me. We caught each other's eye for a moment.

...

Don't try to pretend your banter would have been anymore charming, Ms. I Listen In On Other Couple's Conversations While Lusting For Men In Grocery Stores.

Indian Guy at Starbucks on Tuesday 23rd wearing green sweater

Hi.... We played the stare and smile game tonight at starbucks..in the galleria, you are indian, (desi) wearing a green sweater, at first you were sitting right in front of me, you were in the small tables and i was in the laptop areas... You looked at me a few times..and when i noticed it i looked back, i smiled and you said hi. You were looking outside quite a few times, and you looked kinda sad. I had seen you one last time when i was about to go to the restroom...after that i didnt see you again, You were on the phone.

If you remember me you can identify me when you reply to this message, and also tell me the brand of cell phone you were talking on.. i hope you get this, so we can talk instead of staring at each other.

If she got close enough to observe the kind of cell phone he was talking on, we bet she was also memorizing his side of the conversation. Once they start dating, is she going to riffle through his drawers for his journal every time he leaves the room? Probably.

At least this person was at least being addressed by the object of his affection:

You told me I looked cold

I was in court today on a small matter, and you passed me and said "You look like you are cold". I had wished the circumstances were different and I could have responded with "How about you help me warm up."

Just thought you should know someone took notice of you today. If you remember and want to talk, tell me which court it was.

That's all this time! Stay safe and make connections!
