BB King was released from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston this afternoon, feeling “fabulous and ready to go.” As we noted earlier this week, King was scheduled to play a concert at the Grand 1894 Opera House this past Thursday and Friday. Instead, he was admitted to UTMB for a fever and flu symptoms.
The legendary blues singer and guitarist is 81 years old, and, because of his age, doctors wanted to monitor him for a couple of days. King has diabetes, which you probably know from seeing his many commercials for a diabetes meter OneTouch Ultra.
King is now headed to Fort Worth for a concert there Tuesday night. We’re sorry that we missed BB King performing this week, but we know that he was in good hands. His concert in Galveston will be rescheduled for June.
