Be True Jewely & Gravitas host S.E.A.R.C.H. Fundraiser
Gin Bartlett of Be True Jewelry and local eatery, Gravitas, will join forces to raise funds and awareness for Houston’s homeless with a cocktail party benefiting SEARCH. Guests will not only have the privilege of previewing Bartlett’s exquisite spring collection, but will indulge in culinary sensations from Houston’s own illustrious Executive Chef, Scott Tycer.

God Sleeps in Rwanda Movie Screening & Lecture
Speaker: Kimberlee Acquaro
The Houston World Affairs Council and Holocaust Museum Houston present a free screening of “God Sleeps in Rwanda,” a documentary film by Kimberlee Acquaro and Stacy Sherman and narrated by Rosario Dawson. A poignant story of loss and redemption “God Sleeps in Rwanda” captures the spirit of five courageous women as they rebuild their lives, redefining women’s roles in Rwandan society and bringing hope to a wounded nation. This film was an Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary Short film in 2005. Acquaro will be available to answer questions after the film screening.

Through the Eyes of Children: The Rwanda Project
This exhibition, housed at Houston's Holocaust Museum, showcases children’s photography from orphans of the Rwandan Genocide. Children ranging in age from eight to 18 were given disposable cameras to photograph themselves and their community. The exhibit is the result of continuing photographic workshops for children who live at the Imbabazi Orphanage in Gisenyi, Rwanda.
