During last night’s Super Bowl, you may have seen the commercials for the upcoming Grammy Awards, where Justin Timberlake is given your average, everyday person a chance to sing with him on stage at the event. Secretly, we thought to ourselves, it’d be fun to win that contest and get Justin to bring sexyback to some old, I don’t know, maybe John Denver, while JT gets his groove on the stage.
Well, a local girl is one step closer to doing just that (probably not the John Denver part, though.) Robyn Troup is now one of the three finalists in that contest. She flew out to L.A. today for rehearsals with the former N*Sync teeny-bopper (we like to remind people of his past every now and then, just in case you forget).
Robyn definitely has the skills to be a star – she sings, dances, and writes her own songs. After listening to her on the My Grammy Moment voting site, we were impressed. You can listen to her music, read her bio, and vote here.
Houston Chronicle's Joey Guerra interviewed Robyn last month, and will be talking to her more in the future. Our best wishes to Robyn – she deserves her Grammy moment.

Missed Connections: Gefilte Fish...and "Chain Connections"

Y'all aren't very good journalists if you don't know that Justin wrote every song on his solo albums.
Thanks for the mention! Look for my new interview with Robyn in today's (Feb. 6) Houston Chronicle--and online.
