Good morning, Houston. With everything that's changing in today's world, it's nice to know that abbreviated rock star Prince can still make headlines. Today, the world — or at least a very small, sorta interested portion of it — is trying to figure out whether a silhouette of Prince, guitar in hand, projected during the Super Bowl halftime show was naughty. See, Prince was holding the guitar at an angle that made it look like ... well, just see for yourself. But rest easy, America: At least Prince didn't show his rack.
>> 'Enclosed please find scary white substance': The State Insurance Building in Austin was shut down yesterday after mailroom employees found a mysterious white powder in an envelope containing a threatening letter from a prison inmate to Gov. Rick Perry. Cesar Mendoza, an inmate at the Clements Unit in Amarillo, sent the letter; it's not clear exactly what the powder was, but officials said it wasn't hazardous.
>> To get there, turn left at Chick-fil-A High School: The Conroe school board voted 5-2 Tuesday to name the district's new high school football stadium after Woodforest National Bank in a deal worth $1 million. The 10-year naming contract will begin when the stadium is completed in September 2008; the district hasn't announced yet what it will spend the money on, but most board members said they would like to see it go toward maintenance of the $38 million stadium/swim complex.
>> For sale: one home, owner included: When Hurricane Rita hit East Texas on Sept. 24, 2005, everyone who knew Larry Euglon thought he evacuated his Beaumont home and never came back. You can imagine the shock, then, when a potential buyer visited the house — which was thought to have been empty these past 16 months — and found Euglon's body inside. Neighbors said Euglon was a loner, and apparently they weren't kidding: No one seems to have known that his body was in the house all the time. An autopsy is being conducted now, but police think Euglon probably died of illness rather than anything hurricane-related.
>> Today's weather: We're seeing some patchy dense fog this morning, just like we did yesterday; like yesterday, it'll give way in a little while to a mostly cloudy day with a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. The high will be a thoroughly pleasant 72, dropping to 49 overnight. Overall, not too bad, but get used to the clouds: They'll be around for a few days.
