Wells Done ... but no W for Dynamo

022207_wells.jpgDynamo back-up goal keeper Zach Wells made an incredilbe P.K. save yesterday vs. Puntarenas FC, but it didn't serve well enough to make the win.

The Dynamo was in Coasta Rica for the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. By winning the 2006 MLS Cup, the Houston Dynamo secured one of two MLS spots representing the United States in the Champions Cup, the other being D.C. United. In addition, the Dynamo becomes the first Texas team to participate in this tournament since 1992. In that year, it was the Dallas Rockets who represented the Lone Star State.

"Perhaps the most important benefit of winning the MLS Cup is that it puts us in one of the most important competitions in global soccer", said Houston Dynamo President and General Manager Oliver Luck. "This is a great opportunity for the Dynamo to increase its stature among the top clubs in CONCACAF and the World."
The Dynamo head back to the Lone Star State this week to meet Puntareanas again at the Aggie Soccer Complex in College Station.

The dates for the 2007 CONCACAF Champions Cup are:

Quarter-Finals: 1st Leg - February 20-22;(Dynamo 0, Puntarenas 1) 2nd Leg - February 27-March 1
Semi-Finals: 1st Leg - March 13-15; 2nd Leg - April 3-5
Finals: 1st Leg - April 17-19; 2nd Leg - April 24-26

Thanks for the update.

The Ref was the worst I've ever seen. It's very obvious that he was paid off. Luckily we got out of there only one goal down. Everyone better get their ass up to College Station to cheer on our boys!
