I am in a sorority at Indiana University and think that people who are close minded about sorority girls have no idea what they are talking about. You are so quick to judge us without knowing anything about who we really are. My house has the highest grade point average on campus (a combined 3.7) as well as the student body president (with an underclassmen total of 40,000 students) and are extremely involved on campus. Yes we party but so do a lot of people. And yes some girls have eating problems, but a lot of girls who aren't in sororities do too.
Sororities are exclusive because of national quotas. I think the Delta Zeta situation at DePauw is horrible and I feel horrible for those girls but I also do not think that this is how all sororites are and you cannot generalize the situation.

Relevant? The Greek system is relevant only to those in a fraternity/sorority and those who spend their time bitching about fraternities/sororities.

The question implies that at some time sororities were actually relevant. I strongly disagree with this hypothesis.

I'm all for sororities restricting their membership to the thin and attractive set, but we're talking about Indiana. Are there really enough attractive women in Indiana's colleges and universities to keep the sororities going?
