Wow, this would suck: In northwest Harris County last night, a man cleaning up around his work area got his hair stuck in an industrial machine. It happened around 11 p.m. at a T-3 Energy Services facility on Cypress-North Houston Road as the unidentified 19-year-old man was sweeping up near a machine that makes metal parts for energy companies. The guy thought the machine was completely turned off, but he was wrong: His long hair became caught in two long poles that continuously spin, and co-workers had to pull the guy out of the machinery. "It pulled the scalp and actually pulled him," co-worker Quincy Daniel told KPRC. "It just snatched his hair off. It threw him on the ground. When he left, his hair was still standing right there in the machine. ... It was pretty gross, but we tried our best to help him." Now, please excuse Houstonist for a moment while we hold our hands to our head, dance around the room and yell "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
Daniel said the company had warned employees about putting their hair up, but the man apparently didn't get the memo: "He didn't have it secured at all. I think when the managers told him to put it up was a couple weeks ago, but I guess he didn't take the advice." The man was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition.
