Local Blog Roundup: Goodbye, Radar

030307_radar.jpgWherefore art thou, Radar? This week KPRC dumped the lovable weather dog (sending Ken Hoffman into a tizzy, no doubt), and the mikemcguff blog chronicled it for us. Radar is moving on to bigger things though: he'll become the mascot for the John C. Freeman Weather Museum. The best part of this blog post is the speculation about Radar's uncontrollable barking during newscasts and the jealousy stewing in the hearts of KPRC anchors. We'll miss Radar, as we're sure many of you will too. The real question here: what will happen to KPRC's ratings? Stay tuned for answers.

>> Fighting the HPV vaccine is hard work. The Brazosport News caught fervent opponent Dennis Bonnen taking a break and looking snazzy at the UT-A&M game this week.

>> Like the Scissor Sisters? We do. Houston Calling is holding a ticket giveaway contest, but hurry - it ends this weekend.

>> Peter Brown promised us an architect for Houston, and Houston Strategies says that he's willing to take on Mayor White to deliver on that promise. Political suicide? We'll see, but who fights the mayor and comes out alive?

>>Welcome, Umbrella Man. The Bald Heretic caught and magnificently photographed one of the new musical group's first shows.
