Teacher arrested for early-morning 'math project'

030507_apple.jpgA Katy middle school teacher is scheduled to appear in court today after she was found her engaging in a little extracurricular activity with a student in a parked car early Saturday morning. It happened near Greenhouse and West Little York in west Harris County, where sheriff's deputies got a call about a suspicious vehicle parked alongside the road. When a deputy arrived at about 2 a.m., he found 28-year-old McDonald Junior High math teacher Emily S. Willis in the car with a student. We bet she's realizing now that the "Math makes me randy" sign in her classroom wasn't such a great idea after all.

Katy ISD spokesman Steve Stanford told the Chronicle that Willis started teaching at McDonald in August and was certified to teach last May. She won't be in the classroom today, and Stanford said her employment status will be determined later this week. Though KTRK didn't get an answer when it rang Willis's doorbell, neighbors had plenty to say about the incident: "I feel like we're paying some of the highest taxes around," Diane Frederick, the mother of a sixth-grader, told Channel 13. "Then this happens."
