Daily-ist List: Tuesday

03062006_adamz.jpgTonight marks the final and farewell visit to Houston of renowned Polish poet Adam Zagajewski at The Menil Collection, aptly titled Without End: A Celebration in Words and Music of Adam Zagajewksi. Beginning in 1988, Zagajewski began teaching each spring in the University of Houston Creative Writing Program. This reading both honors his eighteen years of teaching in Houston and bids him farewell. On the agenda this evening, an appreciation by poet Edward Hirsch, a piano performance by Da Camera Artistic Director Sarah Rothenberg, and a reading by Zagajewski. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and the Menil Collection is located at 1515 Sul Ross. Seating is limited, please phone 713.525.9400 for current information, as the event and location may be subject to change, according to the Menil Collection website. This event is free to attend (we do love "free stuff" here at Houstonist) and is co-sponsored by The Menil Collection, Inprint, and Da Camera of Houston.
