The Rockets faced a surging Celtics squad in Boston on Wednesday night and beat the crap out of them (technical sports term) 111-80. The Celts entered last night's action having won four of the last five games. Conversely (no, not the shoes), the Rockets had dropped four of the last five thanks in part to the absence of Yao.
Yao Ming was relatively quiet in his second game back following the leg fracture finishing with 11 points, 5 boards and 4 assists. But, Ming's presence helped open the floor for the offense allowing five other rockets to rack up double digits in the points column. Shane Battier put down five three pointers while Chuck Hayes put together a double-double pulling 11 boards and posting 14 points tying a career high. T-Mac lead the Rockets in scoring with 25 points along with 9 assists.
So that's what happens when Yao joins his talented brethren on the court? We could get used to this, sirs. Please don't peak before the playoffs start.
The Rockets return home to face the Nets on Friday at Toyota Center with the Orlando Magic on tap for Sunday.
