We start off this Tech Buzz with a list of The 50 Most Important People On The Web, Houstonist isn't on the list, but we know our 11 readers love us! We hope by now, you have changed your clocks for Daylight Savings Time. Jay Lee over at The Chron lovingly refers to DST as Y2K7 and reminds us to patch our systems and devices. Looks like we missed BarCampAustin at SXSWi this weekend. SXSWi runs until the 13th. Houstonist wonders when BarCampHouston will resurface. They haven't held an event in town since June of last year. Hey, have you checked out Couchville? It's a Houston based online TV listing guide from Snapstream. Looks like a great way to go paperless. Meanwhile, from MedGadget comes a story out of The University of Houston about new developments in breast cancer research, nanomagnets. In the now you see it, now you don't category, comes a story from HISD about how a computer glitch overpaid close to $75,000 in bonuses to part-time employees. There goes that Spring Break trip to South Padre. Speaking of Spring Break, GeekSpeak reminisces back to his heady, college days and his recent adventures with the lunar eclipse. Where's that 5 megabit internet connection when you need it? Well, according to this article it's coming. Large megabit connections will be made possible with all new fiber optic cables that are slowly being laid around town. We say, hurry up and bring on the bandwidth. And finally, Andrea Grover of The Aurora Picture Show and Jon Rubin of Carnegie-Mellon University ask how would you describe Houston if you've never been? An international group of participants are doing it in an exhibit called what else, Never Been To Houston. So, if you are asking about the tech angle to this exhibit, here it comes, participants are uploading pics to a special online picture site where they are then displayed in a big screen slideshow at The Lawndale Arts Center.
