Houston Roller Derby Kicks Off New Season

Houstonist is gearing you up for Houston Roller Derby! First, buy some Season Tickets. Second, head to RocBar tomorrow, say 6ish until 9ish and have a drink with the ladies of Houston Roller Derby. Yes, the Houston Roller Derby is having a Season Kick-Off Party. Bring your "A" game, cheesy suave pick-up lines, if you feel so compelled (good luck with that) and some folding money or really good plastic (the kind with available spending limit)! Folks dudes you can meet and greet the ladies, buy them a beer, join them in a beer/drink perhaps and chat them up on the upcoming season. The rookies will be there, too. These ladies are cool and know how to party. We can't promise you won't get bodychecked if you get out of line. We urge you, go! Hang with the girls! Have fun! As always, drink responsibly!

UPDATE: The Houston Roller Derby supports a different charity at each bout. This month's bout is "Battle on the Bayou" and the teams will honor the military by "being" a branch of the military. First bout action is veteran skaters facing each other, and the rookies battling it out as they cut their teeth on the sport. This month's charity is U.S. Army Readiness Group, which supports the families of personnel stationed away from home. Their help is financial and/or psychological - depending on the need. The services are provided free of charge to support families whose loved ones are protecting our freedom.
