i lived in charlottesville when matt schaub was the UVA qb, so i saw him for about 3 years and this kid can play.

he was a preseason candidate for the heisman in 03, the year jason white from OK won it - and where is he now? retired. the only reason schaub dropped out of the running was due to a knee injury that caused him to miss 2 games.

he is a smart qb..he actually graduated from UVA, not graduate like they do at miami. he has a pretty good arm and while he is not mobile like carr was, although his was mostly in reverse, he can move if he needs to. he also knows when to get rid of the ball, something carr could just not seem to learn.

as for the money they're paying him, that's another story. i'm not sure i would've given so much, so soon. but if kubiak is the magic man he was in denver and they put schaub behind even a slightly improved line, we'll be better off than we were with carr.

with letting moulds go, i have to agree with jon's comments, this was a stupid move. he came here to take the pressure of johnson, which he did and johnson led the league in receptions, with carr throwing to him! imagine if carr could've gotten him the ball more!!

getting rid of moulds was stupid. i think he dropped one pass all season. half of the passes thrown his direction were batted down at the line. all i read all of last season talked about what a good lockerroom guy he was and that he was a good mentor for andre. then we still had to pay him 2,000,000 after releasing him. stupid! stupid! stupid!

I think the acquisition of Schaub from Atlanta was a bad business decision. We let go of an unproven QB for another one and lost draft picks in the process. That made no sense to me at all. I would have kept David and only deemed him unsuitable once I was sure that it was all him. In other words, I would have given him an OL and then made the descion if he should go or not.

Getting rid of Carr is retarded . . .especially for a quarterback with like 2 games worth of experience??? . . .and put him behind the same O-line?!!! I'm getting sick and tired of being a fan of the Texans. Seriously, gimmie a break with the talk of how they can see the field due to height. 6'3, 6'7, 6'5?? I'm not defending Carr here, but he sees the field just as well as anyone, if not better. Joe Montana never had any problems seeing the field, but he had a complete O-line.

both the texans tackles are 6'7 so, yea, imo, being 6'5 instead of 6'3 will help to see the field. it certainly can't hurt. the texans need rohan davey who is (interestingly enough) available and better than most of the qb's on the wire.

Someone said Schaub is taller than Carr... maybe he can see the field better? To be honest, I don't think the problem was Carr, but the Texans should have never passed on either Young or Bush. One of the people quoted in the story, had it right. This is entertainment and we should be entertained.
