Let's suppose you're a devoted Houstonist reader — you are, of course — but you don't always have the time to check out every post we put up on the site. To help you out, we've had the Favorites page for a while now, where you can see the most commented and recommended posts of the past week, month, year and through the site's entire history. But now there's an easier way to keep up with Houstonist's greatest hits: Favorites RSS feeds.
Now, in addition to the regular Houstonist RSS feed, you can subscribe to feeds that give you the most popular posts of the past week or month. That means your weekly or monthly feed will have somewhere around 30 posts at a time rather than the dozens you'd get in the regular feed. Not a bad thing if you're trying to save some time. So, here are the URLs:
Weekly: http://gothamist.com/week_favorites.xml
Monthly: http://gothamist.com/month_favorites.xml
The posts that go into the weekly and monthly feeds are determined by a combination of the number of comments and recommends they get, so remember to keep leaving us comments and using that "recommend" button at the bottom of each post. Subscribe, enjoy, and let us know if you run into any bugs!
