So, last season we didn't do it. But this season we're going to the playoffs, thanks to a 106-87 rout of the injury-laden Milwaukee Bucs, who have now lost seven straight games in Houston.
Though we led by as much as 23 points in the game, players and attendees alike thought the game was boring and sloppily played. Though the Chronicle, ever-able to look on the bright side, points to that fact as a sign of worthiness: if we can play boring, sloppy ball and get into the playoffs, they seem to say, maybe it's 1995 again!
Tracy McGrady, who scored 22 points and had 9 assists, refused to talk to reporters after the game, and Yao Ming, who also scored 22 points but missed 13 of 22 shots, said it wasn't a good performance. The Chronicle even calls it "routine and often uninspired".
What are these people so depressed about? We're going to the playoffs. Celebrate!
