Arts Event: Barbara Jordan's Speeches

Barbara Jordan – U.S. congresswoman, first African-American woman to serve as a Texas state senator, and professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs – was a ceaseless voice for civil liberties and morality in politics. She is also one of Houston's own, born in the Fifth Ward.

Today at Brazos Bookstore, Max Sherman talks about his new collection of Jordan's speeches, which also includes a DVD of her speeches
