Free Retro Dance Party Tonight

03302007_discoball.jpgTonight, there's a real retro treat at the Continental Club, beginning at 8:00 p.m. (you have time to register yourself as an Art Car Parade Volunteer first). The Aqua Velva, Houston's only BEST B-52's cover band takes the stage at 3700 Main Street at 8:00 p.m. for some amazing '80's dance music. Folks, if you haven't seen them perform, and you like the B-52's even a little bit, you are missing out. Following them up at 10:00 p.m. is Disco Expressions a spin off of The Light Rock Express (we understand there will be a kick ass horn section). Both shows are free, free, free!!! The only tough part to this decision is whether you wear your leg warmers and Olivia Newton-John headband, or a killer Beehive for The Aqua Velva portion of this free dance-athon? Or, do you bust some polyester/satin with wide collars and flared legs (complete your outfit with some killer platforms) and dress for the disco portion? Our last suggestion, be your cool, ultra hip self and "hustle" over to the Continental Club, by 8:00 p.m. (you don't want to miss one song by The Aqua Velva - Private Idaho is so spooky just like the original - it's fabulous). Afterall, the 3700 block of Main Street is perhaps the coolest square block in Houston - you should be there.
