Friday Afternoon Videos: The Rain

Did you know that Houston has a one-hit wonder to call their own? Born in Houston, raised in Harlem, Oran “Juice” Jones hit the top 10 a little over 20 years ago with his hit “The Rain” (the song went to #1 on the R&B charts). He released several more albums after 1986, but none of them could produce a hit.

The memorable part of this song is the last half, where he’s disses his girl after he catches her cheating. Everyone has their favorite lines from this dialogue – here are some of ours:

You know my first impulse was to run up on you and do a Rambo … But I didn't wanna mess up this thirt-seven hundred dollar lynx coat.

You without me like corn flakes without the milk
This is my world, you just a squirrel tryin' to get a nut!
