We all know Houston's a great place for the arts, right? We have the museums, we have the art galleries, we have the artists, the performers, the theaters, the writers and filmmakers and musicians. It can be tough to keep up with it all — and that's where you come in. If you're into any (or all) of the local arts scenes, why not write about them for Houstonist?
Arts contributors should, first and foremost, have a passion for (and basic knowledge of) Houston's arts scene. You should be able to post at least a couple of times a week; writing skills are a must and good time management helps a lot, too. You coverage of local arts will help Houstonist's readers keep up with what's going on in the city, and it'll help get you the recognition you deserve for your arts savvy and dangerously clever wordplay. Oh, and your mom will be so proud.
Think you're up to the task? Drop us an e-mail at write (at) houstonist (dot) com and include your name and a bit about yourself and your specific interests. Also send us a sample post — about 250 words on whatever arts-related topic you're interested in, so we can get a feel for your style.
We'll be accepting applications until the end of the day Sunday, April 8, so contact us soon if you would like to be a part of Houstonist (or if you have any questions about the gig). We're waiting ...
