Hyde Park protest today

040507_hydepark.jpgAt 5pm today, residents and other concerned citizens will be meeting to peacefully protest the City of Houston's failure to enforce deed restrictions in the neighborhood of Hyde Park. In addition to this, there are reportedly problems with public notice of lots being subdivided for the likely cause that the city wants more revenue.

While many of the nearing-centenarian bungalows and trees are being removed to make way for new development, the association states that they don't want additional consideration for them, just the enforcement of current restrictions.

The civic association asks that people wishing
to participate meet on the public sidewalks along the corner of Waugh Dr. and Welch St., or drive by and honk for support.
