Friday Afternoon Videos: Wolf Like Me

Last year, New York City's TV on the Radio reached a new pinnacle in their five-year career with their album Return to Cookie Mountain. It has been hailed by critics and showed up as one of our favorite albums of 2006. Since they're in town tonight (and so is Yo La Tengo -- how about that for a dilemma?), we thought we'd feature a video off the CD, "Wolf Like Me."

We often wondered how TV on the Radio got their name. We thought maybe it was some type of social statement, maybe about the excess consumerism of America ... but no, it was just a fluke.

Honestly, the song is much better than the video. The video reminds us of some old 80's music videos that try hard to look like a serious sci-fi movie on a $500 budget, but nevertheless, the melody of "Wolf Like Me" gets implanted in your brain.

I love this group and I love this release. The video is good too! Debating whether or not to go to the show.
