After suffering an upsetting loss on Thursday night in the CONCACAF cup, the Dynamo headed back to Houston to face LA Galaxy for the MLS opener. The team only had a brief workout on Saturday before entering Robertson Stadium for Sunday’s game. The LA Galaxy started the game as if they had something to prove (Beckham-who?) with a very close shot in the 4th minute by Nate Jaqua. Then in the 14th minute Dynamo Goalie, Pat Onstad – playing for the first time since Feb. 21st, made an impressive diving save from a shot attempt by Landon Donovan. Offensively the Dynamo also made several attempts by Eddie Robinson, Brian Ching, and Dwayne De Rosario. Both teams looked evenly matched, where Dynamo were playing good defensively the LA Galaxy answered with a strong offense (and vice versa).
The Dynamo’s closest scoring attempt came in the 70th minute when De Rosario shot went just wide of the far post. The crowd heated up in the 76th minute when the Dynamo’s Ryan Cochrane was issued a Red card for pulling on the jersey of Robbie Findley to prevent a goal. Being one man short seemed to ignite the Dynamo’s play, however the Galaxy were unwilling to let anything slip by. “Given what we went through this week I don't think this is a terrible result for us.”, said Dynamo captain Wade Barrett.
Hopefully with a some much needed rest this week, the Dynamo will come out in full force this Saturday against Chivas USA.

Missed Connections: Gefilte Fish...and "Chain Connections"

It blows that these guys had to play in their off-season. I wish the Dynamo would've had a longer break... I don't know, was it good that they had to play in the off-season? That way they are conditioned throughout the break or did they come back tired? Regardless, GO ORANGE!
true that! they have one of hte longest regular seasons in professional sports (april to november) and on top of that having to play during their "break." in addition to CHing, DeRo, and Eddie, some great plays from Kelly Gray, who is now starting. Also think we are going to see some great things this year from Stuart Holden, he's young and hungry.
