Collectors Tom and Pat Ebrey acquired their first Chinese painting while traveling and doing research in Japan and Hong Kong in the early 1970s. Figuring out what they had acquired and wondering what they should look for next brought the Ebreys in contact with a nexus of dealers and businesses that became integral to the growth of their collection over the next 35 years. Dr. Ebrey will talk about how the collection was shaped and will share some of the paintings he and his wife count as their favorites. A reception will follow the lecture.
