So, we assume you know what today is. And as you run around gathering your 1040s and Schedule Cs, remember that you have until midnight tonight to actually drop your taxes in the mail. The Chronicle reports that mail in boxes at Houston-area post offices will be collected before midnight, and a few stations will be staffed late:
- Air Mail Center, 19175 Lee Road (until midnight)
- Albert Thomas Station, 14910 El Camino Real (until 7 p.m.)
- De Moss Station, 6500 De Moss Drive (until 6 p.m.)
- Granville Elder Station, 550 Maxey Road (to 7 p.m.)
- Main Post Office, 401 Franklin Ave. (until midnight)
- Julius Melcher Station, 2802 Timmons Lane (until 7 p.m.)
- Memorial Park Station, 10506 Town & Country Way (until 6 p.m.)
- Westfield Station, 17119 Red Oak Drive (until 8 p.m.)
USPS staff will also operate eight curbside drop-off points on streets surrounding the Main Post Office downtown from 2 p.m. to midnight — but remember, you have to have proper postage on your envelope to use that. Happy filing!
