The Houston Dynamo announced that the club has traded defender Kevin Goldthwaite and a first round SuperDraft pick in the '08 MLS draft for two time all-star Richard Mulrooney of Toronto FC. Mulrooney, who will be available for Saturday's showdown vs. NY Red Bulls, will be reunited with head coach Dominic Kinnear and eight members of the Houston Dynamo.

Mulrooney was part of the San Jose Earthquakes for six years and the championship teams in '01 and '03. He also scored the winning goal in the '03 MLS title game vs. the Chicago Fire.

After suffering a torn ACL in the seventh game of the 2005 campaign, Mulrooney returned to form in 2006 and was named MLS Comback Player of the Year.

"We know Mulrooney very well from his days with us in San Jose," said Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear. "He is a very talented player who will give us great depth at midfield. He will also provide a tough, physical presence in that area as well. We would like to wish Kevin a good season up in Toronto."
