The African Children's Choir, which is made up of children ages 7 - 11 who are all orphans of the AIDS pandemic and civil violence in Uganda and other countries, will be performing at two very prestigious venues tonight and again on Sunday. Tonight's performance is on FOX's American Idol. This is part of a special "Idol Gives Back" episode. During the show, viewers can make their donations to the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund by calling Idol's toll free number or via their donation website.
Tomorrow evening the choir will be in Houston to perform at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcomed. The proceeds will go to help build schools and deliver education throughout Africa in Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. After their US concert tour, the choir members will return to their homelands with experiences, support, care and education necessary for bettering their future and that of other children in their communities.
