Police find woman stuffed into clothes dryer

042707_dryer.jpgAh, you know it must be Friday when you hear a story about a man who apparently had a fight with his girlfriend, then shoved her into a clothes dryer. No, really: A man put his girlfriend in a clothes dryer. And it wasn't a stupid human trick.

Harris County sheriff's deputies found the woman yesterday afternoon inside a dryer in an apartment at the Nantucket Square complex near Kuykendahl and Place Rebecca. The police were called to the apartment because the woman and her boyfriend had been fighting; when they arrived, they talked to the boyfriend, who said the woman was in the apartment. Officers looked for the woman, but couldn't find her — that is, until they checked the garage and found the woman inside the dryer. The police initially thought the woman was dead, but it turns out she was just unconscious; according to KHOU, she was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion (we assume that means the dryer had been turned on).

It's apparently not clear yet exactly what led the boyfriend to put the woman in the dryer, though KRIV reports that deputies are questioning both the man and woman to try to find out. (The woman, by the way, is recovering at Houston Northwest Medical Center.)
