Houstonist is reporting to you today live from Relaint Stadium for the 72nd annual NFL draft. With the 10th pick, the Houston Texans drafted Louisville defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, the youngest player ever drafted at 19-years old.

Okoye was a unamimous 2006 All-Big East selection on defense while recording 49 tackles (12 for a loss) with six sacks. For his career at Louisville, Okoye registered 121 tackles and 10 1/2 sacks to boast. His size, speed and age played a factor for the Texans selecting the native Nigerian.

"He's an outstanding football player, he's advanced for his age, for his whole life. He can help our pass rush. He's intelligent and hard working," stated Texans general manager Rick Smith.

Notes: Okoye became the youngest college football player in America as a 16-year old freshman at Louisville in 2003. He will turn 20 on June 10.
