During the seventh inning stretch at Yankee Stadium today, Roger Clemens announced his return to New York. Clemens made the announcement from the owner's box at Yankee Stadium.

Announcer Bob Sheppard told the crowd to look towards the owner's box and with that, Clemens stated, "It's a privilege to be back." Clemens kept the announcement from long-time friend Andy Pettitte a secret and he was shocked as anyone when Clemens made the announcement.

Rocket will begin a minor league assingment with the Yankees as he did last year with the Astros to prepare for his up-coming season. "It's time to go to work," Clemens said. "I've got a lot of work to do, to get back up here." Clemens will recieve a pro-rated $28 million contract for the '07 season, the highest in MLB history.
