Sushi Mondays

050207_SushiKing.jpgMost people know that sushi and seafood are never fresh on Mondays. Many restaurants don’t get their shipments in until Tuesday and/or Thursday so the seafood you eat on Monday is likely to be the weekend’s leftovers. Against our moral fiber, we headed to Sushi King (3401 Kirby Dr) on Monday with every intention of ordering their delicious Nabeyaki Udon soup. Then we broke down and ordered some sushi. Our server informed us that they always get in a fresh shipment of sea trout on Mondays. And who are we to deny our jet-fresh sea trout a gastronomic adventure?

We’ve never experienced sea trout before and now we can’t believe we’ve lived this long without it: buttery, slightly sweet, smooth and oh so fresh. The trout seems to be the beautiful lovechild of the salmon and tuna. So, folks, it’s Monday. And we declare Monday to be Sea Trout Day! So wear white before Labor Day, drink a white wine with red meat and eat sushi on Monday!

This story was posted last week by mistake, then quickly pulled. So what's the deal? Paid product placement, or unsolicited recommendation that just happened to have been written a week early?

As you said, Landlubber, just a mistake. We never have, and never will, carry paid product endorsements.

Thanks for reading so carefully.
